History

Tamara began her dance training at the Poznan State Ballet (Poland), and subsequently at Arts Educational School (London) and the London School of Contemporary Dance. Her career has spanned a variety of responsibilities, being a Choreographer, Solo Dance Artist, Dance Artist in Residence, Performer, Artistic Director, Associate Director, Teacher, Mentor and Consultant.

Tamara has been extensively commissioned as a choreographer both in the UK and internationally for both professional and community dance companies, and was Artistic Director of Dundee Rep Dance Company (now Scottish Dance Theatre) for six years. During her tenure as Dance Artist in Residence for Stirling District Council, she, in collaboration with Royston Maldoom, was instrumental in the founding of The Scottish Youth Dance Festival, the first integrated festival of its kind. Throughout her career, she has been invited to teach technique and creative workshops at a variety of residencies and festivals.

More recently, in tandem with creating new works, Tamara has been deeply involved with consultancy for organisations and the training of dance artists in the field of Community Dance, where, again together with Royston Maldoom, she has been pivotal in the development of a Community Dance Network across Europe, particulary in Germany and Austria.
